Personal statement:
Over the course of my educational history and my, albeit brief, occupational history, I have demonstrated a commitment to furthering both our community and our lahui. My educational background, particularly my focus in Native Hawaiian law and emphasis on Federal Indian Law, would make me an ideal candidate in helping frame the future for the lahui. Prior to working for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, I was an extern at KAHEA: The Hawaiian Environmental Alliance. I have worked for the Judiciary, OHA in a Legislative capacity, a non-profit organization focused on issues directly impacting Native Hawaiians, and I currently work for the State doing criminal defense. I possess a wide breadth of knowledge and experiences that I think will best assist the 'Aha.
