Personal statement:
Hawaiians have always been a very visionary people. In tune with nature and the world around them, we have been able to thrive and prosper in spite of many trials and tribulations. Through all of that however, we have remained humble and steadfast. Participating in a process that sets the groundwork for Hawaiian self-governance stands to be the most significant and radical activity Hawaiians have been involved in since the renaissance of the 1970’s. I stand united with my brothers and sisters to ensure that the legacy of our kupuna lives on.
